Things You Need to Do Before Starting a Work at Home Business

Whether you are starting a knitting business or starting a website and making money online with advertising networks like Infolinks, starting a business at home and making money is not something you can do without any pre-planning whatsoever.

Because a lot of people with the motivation to start a business at home do not have the experience that a lot of businessmen have, I am sharing a few things you need to do before starting a business:

Get a credit report

Getting a credit report before starting your business can save you a lot of headaches and make starting your business cheaper. This is because you may want to get a lien of credit for your business in the future and getting one with a low interest rate is more easy if you have a good credit score.
Your credit score is used by banks to see how creditworthy you are. If they think that you are not creditworthy because your credit score is low, consider starting a business with an associate and use their credit and put their name on liens of credit and loans so that your business can get a good deal.

Check local zoning laws

Certain cities do not allow certain types of work at home businesses. You should be fine with small scale businesses, such as knitting businesses and running websites on your own, but you could be in violation of city ordinances regarding zoning (not to mention state law) if you hire employees to work for your business and they work at your home.
